The story of Pinocchio is a cautionary tale that promotes the ‘correct’ way to live. Trapped in his puppet form, this cardboard version is tortured by not-good-enough. The over-invested process and glorification of disposable cardboard suggest perhaps there is value in that which is labelled worthless and that maybe he didn't have to become a real boy.
